Once
upon a time before cell phones and laptops
there
lived a young woman who loved to tell stories. ...
I
have been telling stories all my life and turned professional with the
turn of the century. I became a founding member of the
Champaign-Urbana Storytelling Guild in 2001. I served as
secretary, treasurer and then as president of the Guild for four years,
bringing many outside tellers to local venues as well as organizing
workshops on the art of storytelling. I have told at the University of
Illinois Youth Festival (2008) and the Urbana Park District Chautauqua
Centennial Celebration (2007), as well as numerous smaller venue gigs.
Currently on UPTV cable channel 6, I produce and host “The Stories We
Tell”, a program of recorded concerts, interviews with authors, and
storytellers. featured tellers.
